I saw Bella the first time, when I visited Boston in 2007. Her parents are well-known to every breeder, who is interested in color headed white Collies. Her sire Am. Ch. Special Sharp Dressed Man has produced lots of rough and smooth champions. He is owned by Laura LaBounty, Massachussetts. An imposing white stud with blue merle markings:

Bella's dam, Can. Ch. Glasgowhill's Divine Design, lives is Canada. A wonderful white bitch with sable markings:

Two years ago, when the litter of Divine and ZZ was announced, I tried to get on the waiting list for a female pup. But there was no chance to get a pup of that litter, all the pups were spoken for and were sold to breeders in the USA and Canada, some on co-ownership. One pup, Special Design By Glasgowhill, found her new home at the Special Kennel of Laura La Bounty, USA. Bella started at the age of 9 months at the National Specialty 2007 of the CCA (Collie Club of America) in the Open White Bitch Class and became 2nd, her dam Divine became 3rd!!

When I visited Laura in December 2007, I was very curious about Bella. And indeed, she was a dream... Laura and I were joking, that if she ever would sell her, she will sell her to me. I never really believed, that that case would happen! But never say never! Two months later, Bella was for sale and folks be sure: I took my chance to get her! :-)
Bella headstudy, CCA National Specialty 2007
Although Bella has not the best genetic test reports (she has mild CEA and is affected with MDR1), she is a bitch of outstanding quality and character! Such an extraordinary bitch with an extreme loving, fearless and self-confident character, full of the joys of life, is always a gain for our breeding concept. We will mate her with typey non carriers of CEA-CH and MDR1, so that her pups won't be affected with CEA or MDR1. Only two more generations, and her descendants will be non carriers of CEA-CH and MDR1, combined with her outstanding type and character - who would ask for more?
CCA National Specialty 2008
Just before Bella started her journey to Germany, she started again on the annual CCA National Specialty, this time in 2008. Again she was very successful and became 3rd in the Open White Bitch Class. She continuously showed her quality for a longer period of time, certified by several judges. We are very proud of her and thankful, that we can call one of the best white bitches in the USA our own.
Her first litter with smooth pups was born in 2008. The quality of the litter is extraordinary! Her second litter was born in 2009, a 100% American Lines litter with Opus. Watch out for it! :-)
All our breeding dogs are primarily our family dogs. We support their special needs and individual talents. Hazel has a lot of fun with dryland-carting. We have a dog-trike, that can be drawn by one or two dogs. She loves to run in a team with Jade. They get really enthusiastic :-)

Since May 2009, Bella is a certified official Therapy Dog and works with me in Animal-Assisted programs with children in school and therapeutic contexts. She visits school classes, kindergarten and homes for the elderly, to allow children and senior citizens a relaxed contact with dogs, take away fears and teach children the correct way to treat dogs in ways appropiate to the dog's species. You can get more information an pictures und the button "Therapy Dogs" :-)
